Project-Overview:

Komodo Wanderlust tour is a local tour company based in Labuan Bajo that provides special and comprehensive tour services across Komodo Islands such as: Komodo dragon experiences, island hopping, snorkeling and diving tours.

Project-Description:

When he approached us with this purpose, the owner of Komodo Wanderlust Tour had a clear goal: he wanted to push the organic traffic of keywords associated with the tour of Komudo Islands to the top and receive high-quality international leads.

The competition came as a challenge because there was abundance of well established tour operators in the competition. Content of the web based sites was also shallow and did not have a purposeful internal linking structure therefore having several technical issues that made the web site visibility low in Google.

In our attempts to do SEO, we started with:

  • Carried out a thorough technical audit to address the problem of site speed, indexing and broken pages.
  • A research into the keywords related to tourists intent was undertaken and classified into two broad ones namely transactional and informational.
  • Improved even more the local SEO of Labuan Bajo and surrounding regions to get more noticeable on maps.
  • Conducted on-page SEO of the service pages and composed new posts including, among others, “The Best Time to Visit Komodo Island” and “Komodo Dragons Facts”.
  • Strategy Resorted to travel blogs, Indonesian tourism websites or other useful guides to use relevant backlinking directories to develop high quality links.

The improvements could be seen during the 3 rd month and by the 5 th month, there were key phrases that were already in the top 10 on Google such as the high intent phrases like Komodo Island tour via Labuan Bajo and private Komodo boat journey.

Results Achieved:

  • Over 60 percent of key words used in the priority category have moved to Google Page 1.
  • Acquired the top 3 rankings on all important revenue-making phrases like Komodo Island tour, Komodo dragon tour, and a Private Komodo boat trip.
  • In the span of six months, the increase in organic traffic was by 200 percent.
  • There was also a 25 percent fall in the bounce rate due to better engagement of the content.
  • Long term international lead generation especially USA, UK and Australia.
